Linear Rail and Guides
Established in 1990, Precision Motion Industries (PMI) has been manufacturing linear rails and linear rail guides for a wide variety of industrial applications. What is a Linear Rail?
A linear rail is a common linear motion component that enables the smooth movement of loads along a single axis. These rails provide a number of key benefits, including:
- High positioning accuracy
- Lower frictional resistance, enabling a high level of precision
- High rigidity for load-bearing in four directions
- Suitable for high-speed applications due to the low-friction design
At Matara UK, we can manufacture fully bespoke linear rail solutions, with each linear guide rail cut to a specified length alongside pitch mounting holes for easy installation. Linear guides also use mounting holes to secure the load the rail transports.
How to Align Linear Rails
To align linear rails, screw fasteners into your fixed rail and slide two fixed bearings onto it. Align your floating rail parallel with your fixed rail and place fasteners inside, but don’t screw them in immediately. Slide two floating bearings down the floating rail and attach your connecting plate on top of all four bearings. Once you have established free movement, you can screw the fasteners of the floating rail in place.
